Nepal to Export Electricity to Bangladesh via India: A Historic Deal
Nepal will sign a historic tripartite power trading deal next week to export 40 MW of electricity to Bangladesh via India. Nepal is poised to sign a landmark tripartite power trading deal next week to export 40 MW of electricity to Bangladesh via India, according to a senior official on Thursday.
This agreement will be the first time in history that the Himalayan nation sells electricity to a third country other than India.
The NEA spokesperson, Chandan Kumar Ghosh, confirmed that the groundwork for the agreement has been completed and that the signing ceremony will be held on July 28, witnessed by top ministers from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.
