Rajasthan Cabinet Approves Energy and Metro Rail Projects

The Rajasthan Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, approved the formation of joint venture companies for renewable and thermal energy projects and metro rail developments. This includes partnerships with central public sector units and the establishment of an Infrastructure Investment Trust for transmission projects.

The Rajasthan Cabinet on Saturday sanctioned the establishment of four joint venture companies in the energy sector. These companies will focus on renewable and thermal power generation and transmission projects, according to an official statement.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state also greenlit the development of metro rail projects. Cabinet decisions include joint ventures with central public sector units, as stated by the Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel.

Additionally, an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) aligned with Union energy ministry guidelines will be set up by Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited. This move is part of efforts to monetize operational transmission assets.
