Four Bangladeshi Nationals Intercepted at India-Bangladesh Border
Police intercepted four Bangladeshi citizens trying to illegally cross the India-Bangladesh border in Karimganj. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported on the matter. The Bangladeshis were promptly repelled. Meanwhile, the BSF has heightened its alert along the Assam border in response to ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh.

Four Bangladeshi citizens attempting to enter India through the Karimganj sector of the India-Bangladesh border were intercepted by police, stated Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The individuals were identified as Motiur Seikh, Mushiar Mullah, Tania Mullah, and Rita Mullah.
Chief Minister Sarma noted that at 1:30 AM, the Bangladeshi citizens were intercepted by police at the zero point and repelled promptly to prevent unauthorized entry. His statement was posted on X on Monday. Previously, on August 10, BSF troops and Meghalaya Police, in a coordinated operation, apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian facilitators at a checkpoint, according to a BSF statement on Sunday.
All apprehended individuals were handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. The Border Security Force (BSF) remains on high alert along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam due to the crisis in Bangladesh. District Commissioner Mridul Yadav confirmed the closure of the Integrated Check Post (ICP), halting import-export activities and the movement of people since Monday. An army company is providing additional security with the BSF.
