Rajnath Singh Highlights Bipartisan Development and Karunanidhi's Legacy at Coin Release

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the central government's bipartisan commitment to development at an event unveiling a commemorative coin for Kalaignar Muthuvel Karunanidhi. He highlighted initiatives like defence industrial corridors and cultural integration programs, recognizing Karunanidhi's unwavering commitment to democracy and social justice.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday underscored that the development commitment by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's central government transcends partisan politics. He addressed a gathering at an event marking the release of a commemorative coin celebrating the birth centenary of M. Karunanidhi, the five-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

'Thiru Karunanidhi fought for democracy and dedicated his life to bringing positive change. The NDA government under PM Modi also believes in the power of democracy and cooperative federalism. India is not only meeting the aspirations of its 1.4 billion people but is also proving that democracy delivers development and empowers people,' Singh asserted. He emphasized that the government's commitment to development is beyond partisan politics. The Defence Minister also highlighted the establishment of defence industrial corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, aiming to bolster domestic defence manufacturing and reduce import dependency.

'These corridors are designed to attract investment, foster innovation, and create a robust ecosystem for defence production in India,' Singh added. He also mentioned Kashi Tamil Sangamam, noting that PM Modi inaugurated this significant initiative to reconnect and celebrate the historical ties between the Tamil people and Kashi. Building on this success, the government launched Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamam, aiming to foster cultural integration between West and South India.

Reflecting on Karunanidhi's legacy, Singh said, 'One key lesson young Indians can learn from Thiru Karunanidhi's life is the importance of staying true to one's values.' Karunanidhi's unwavering belief that every citizen deserves to live a life of dignity exemplifies great Indian culture and tradition, Singh noted. Unveiling the Karunanidhi coin, Singh said it is a tribute to a life dedicated to progress, justice, and societal betterment, serving as a symbol of collective gratitude. He called Karunanidhi a titan of Indian politics whose influence extended far beyond Tamil Nadu, advocating tirelessly for social justice.
