Uttarakhand CM Pays Tribute to Fallen Soldier, Surveys Cloudburst Damage

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Havildar Basudev Singh's family to offer condolences. Later, he inspected areas affected by a cloudburst, instructing officials to assess and aid affected villages.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday visited the ancestral home of Havildar Basudev Singh in Sarkot, Gairsain district, to offer his condolences to Singh's family after the soldier lost his life during duty in Leh-Ladakh. Dhami commended Singh for his supreme sacrifice in protecting the country.

The Chief Minister assured Singh's family of the state government's full support. Earlier in the day, Dhami conducted an aerial survey and inspected the damage caused by a cloudburst and heavy rains in the Ghutu, Panjya, and Devling areas of Ghansali tehsil, Tehri Garhwal district.

Addressing reporters, Dhami said he instructed the district administration to evaluate all affected villages and assist those impacted by the calamity. He emphasized the importance of alerting residents about potential natural disasters and assured the public that rehabilitation efforts would begin promptly.
