Pawan Khera Slams BJP, Defends Congress Amid Wrestling Protests

Congress leader Pawan Khera launched an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, asserting that the BJP supports those who commit wrongdoings while the Congress stands up for victims. Khera's statement follows accusations by former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who alleged that the Congress politically motivated the wrestler's protest.

In a conversation with ANI, Khera passionately defended his party's actions, saying, 'Whoever does wrong, the BJP stands with them and they are with the BJP. Whoever is wronged, Congress fights for them and raises their voice and will continue to do so in the future; that is why they also like Congress.' He emphasized the serious nature of the accusations against Brij Bhushan, highlighting that six players had filed an FIR against him. 'How dare he speak like this?' Khera questioned. 'We are proud that we stood, are standing, and will stand with our daughters.'

Addressing Brij Bhushan's assertion that the Congress would regret their support for wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, Khera firmly refuted it. 'We will never regret standing with our daughters; they should regret it,' he stated. 'The Hooda family has done nothing wrong by raising their voice against injustice. What is the point of politics if we don't stand by them?' He concluded by reiterating Congress's unwavering support for the wrestlers, as the two athletes recently joined the party ahead of the Haryana assembly polls.
