In a fervent exchange over Delhi's alarming air quality, the BJP has launched a scathing critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that the latter's governance has exacerbated the city's environmental woes. BJP leader Manoj Tiwari claims that under AAP, the life expectancy in Delhi has dwindled by a decade. The escalating pollution levels, he argues, necessitate a 'double-engine government' led by the BJP to effectively address the crisis within two years.

Despite his sharp criticism, Tiwari's assertions have met with resistance from Indian politicians across the spectrum. Haryana's former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, called for government intervention in the form of minimum support pricing for agricultural stubble, rather than punitive actions against farmers. Highlighting alternative uses for stubble, he urged better solutions and machinery for its disposal.
