PM Modi Unveils Health Transformations on Ayurveda Day
On the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day, PM Narendra Modi will launch projects worth Rs 12,850 crore in the health sector. Key initiatives include expanded health coverage for seniors and advancements in healthcare infrastructure across several states, emphasizing technology and innovation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, launch, and lay the foundation stone for a series of health-related projects valued at approximately Rs 12,850 crore, coinciding with Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day. The event will be held at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi.
A significant highlight of these developments is the extension of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, now including all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income. This move reflects the Prime Minister's commitment to delivering quality healthcare services nationwide, according to a statement from his office.
PM Modi will inaugurate Phase II of AIIMS, encompassing a Panchakarma hospital, an Ayurvedic pharmacy, and various modern healthcare units. Moreover, three medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh and service expansions at AIIMS facilities across multiple states are poised to bolster healthcare infrastructure significantly.
Further healthcare initiatives include the introduction of a Super Speciality Block in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, and a Critical Care Block in Bargarh, Odisha. New Nursing Colleges in Madhya Pradesh and Critical Care Blocks under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission will also be established.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate an ESIC Hospital in Indore and lay foundations for new ESIC hospitals across several states, benefiting around 55 lakh ESI members. Drone technology will be employed at 11 Tertiary Healthcare Institutions to boost service delivery, and helicopter emergency medical services will debut from AIIMS Rishikesh.
In addition, Modi will launch the U-WIN portal to digitalize vaccination for pregnant women and children, alongside the nationwide health campaign 'Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan.' This initiative aims to elevate health awareness and develop climate-resilient healthcare strategies in each state.
