This initiative seeks to avert power shortages, particularly during the summer months.
Speaking at the National Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Khadan Mazdoor Sangh, Reddy emphasized the pivotal role of coal in national energy security. He highlighted efforts to acquire critical minerals such as lithium and copper in Argentina, responding to the growing demand for these resources.
The minister underscored India's position as the world's second-largest coal consumer and producer. He detailed plans to curb coal imports and laid out strategies for coal storage and mining worker welfare.
