BJP's Rao Criticizes Opposition Over Language Policy Controversy

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader N Ramachander Rao on Tuesday condemned the opposition parties DMK and AIADMK for what he described as their manipulation of public sentiment over the language policy debate. Rao praised the New Education Policy (NEP), calling it one of the most effective policies that aims to promote both mother tongues and English as a national link language.

In an interview with ANI, Rao accused both DMK and AIADMK of lacking insight into national interests by criticizing NEP for political leverage. 'These parties fail to consider the country's best interests. They criticize the policy and attempt to use it for electoral benefits,' he remarked.

Amidst the unfolding controversy, actor-turned-politician Ranjana Nachiyaar resigned from BJP, citing the imposition of the three-language formula as a reason. Additionally, AIADMK MP M Thambidurai lambasted the ruling DMK for turning the language issue into a political instrument ahead of elections, questioning the state's stance given its allowance for CBSE schools offering multiple languages, including Hindi.
