The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) launched a protest outside Parliament on Monday, spearheaded by MP Tiruchi Siva, over concerns surrounding the forthcoming delimitation exercise.
Addressing the media, Siva implored the central government to explore alternatives to the population-based delimitation, emphasizing potential adverse impacts on southern states, including Tamil Nadu.
Siva warned that the representation of states like Tamil Nadu in Parliament could drop significantly, citing potential losses for Kerala and others. Chief Minister MK Stalin echoed this sentiment, urging political unity against what he termed an assault on federalism.
