The Indian defense ministry signed pivotal agreements with Bharat Forge Ltd and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd on Wednesday, earmarking Rs 6,900 crore for the procurement of artillery equipment.
This procurement deal is a significant milestone, taking the total contracts for capital acquisitions to Rs 1.40 lakh crore this financial year.
The newly purchased 155 mm/52 calibre ATAGS will replace outdated artillery, considerably boosting the Indian Army's operational readiness with its enhanced precision and range capabilities.
