In the wake of the Indian Armed Forces' Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, heightened security measures have led to the closure of major cities' airports across northern India. Amritsar Airport, among others, has been shut down indefinitely, as confirmed by the local police.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-2) Sirivennela stated that 21 airports in North and North-Western India would remain closed until May 10. No flights will be operational during this period as per central government directives.
Airlines such as SpiceJet and IndiGo have announced sweeping cancellations of flight operations to key airports including Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, and others until early morning on May 10, following the Pahalgam terror attack.
