In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a high-level security review meeting at his official residence 'Varsha' in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the Director General of Police, and other senior officials, according to the Chief Minister's Office.

Addressing the media, Fadnavis assured that all security forces, including the police, coast guard, and navy, remain on high alert. He highlighted ongoing exercises and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring preparedness according to the War Book. Fadnavis emphasized continuous internal security reviews to reassure public safety.

Following a series of hostile attacks along the India-Pakistan border, the Ministry of Home Affairs urged all states and Union Territories to enhance civil defense under the 1968 Civil Defence Act. This move came in the wake of cross-border strikes linked to retaliatory operations, igniting heightened tensions, and prompting calls for diplomatic engagement.
