The leaders conferred over significant state and party issues, amidst rising pressures from recent corruption allegations facing the Congress government in Karnataka.
The meeting occurred amid escalating challenges, including accusations leveled against a minister by fellow Congress MLAs, forthcoming MLC nominations, and unresolved governance matters. On Tuesday, Karnataka Housing, Minorities and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan refuted claims of corruption related to government housing scheme allocations, asserting his integrity by denying any financial misconduct.
During a press conference in Bengaluru, Minister Khan declared his intent to resign should any wrongdoing be proven. He condemned financial exploitation in the housing sector as an unforgivable act and announced an investigation following allegations made by senior Congress MLA BR Patil. Despite the controversy, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remains informed and has prioritized accountability within the party while addressing Patil's claims in upcoming meetings.
