Displacement: A Crucial Challenge in Chhattisgarh's Coal Production Push

Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, emphasized the issue of displacement as a significant challenge to meeting coal production objectives at the Dipka mines in Chhattisgarh. Dubey conveyed his views during a visit to the South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) site on Monday.

While engaging with ANI, Dubey praised the Chhattisgarh government's support in facilitating timely displacement to achieve coal production targets. He commended officials for their relentless efforts in coordinating the displacement process and ensuring rehabilitation for affected individuals. At the Dipka viewpoint, Dubey reviewed various aspects of mine productivity and operations.

Dubey pointed out the increased land availability this year as a promising factor for meeting production goals. He noted the coal sector's pivotal contribution to realizing an 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The focus remains on environmental sustainability alongside coal output, with SECL playing a vital role in energy production and social responsibility. Conversations with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai centered on expediting land acquisition for coal project expansion.
