In a recent statement on Fox News, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright suggested that sanctioning Russian oil could be a viable strategy to end the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
President Donald Trump echoed this sentiment, threatening to impose 100% tariffs on Russian oil buyers. This move aims to pressure Moscow into agreeing to a significant peace deal with Ukraine.
The Trump administration has set a deadline for Moscow to comply with these demands, suggesting further sanctions might follow if the deadline, ending in early September, is not met.
