Congress Criticizes Trump's Role in Indo-Pak Ceasefire Claims

In a heated parliamentary session on Monday, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda castigated the government for not condemning U.S. President Donald Trump's repeated assertions that he was behind the ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.

Alongside Hooda, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi also lambasted the government's apparent halt of military operations despite Pakistan showing signs of surrender. During the Lok Sabha debate, Gogoi questioned why India did not pursue reclaiming the territory occupied by Pakistan.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar defended the government's stance, highlighting the historic nature of the operation and dismissing any trade links with Trump's administration during discussions about potential retaliatory measures.
