RBI's Financial Inclusion Drive: Empowering Rural India

RBI Deputy Governor M Rajeshwar Rao visited Ormanjhi Gram Panchayat to bolster financial inclusion efforts. The RBI and Ministry of Finance's campaign from July to September aims to connect people with banking services and complete re-KYC processes. Rao emphasized customer-friendly banking and the camp's success in engaging the public.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), spearheaded by Deputy Governor M Rajeshwar Rao, is actively advancing financial inclusion across rural landscapes. Rao visited a financial inclusion saturation camp at Ormanjhi Gram Panchayat in Ranchi on Friday to underscore RBI's commitment to accessible banking services.

This initiative, part of a broader outreach effort alongside the Ministry of Finance, seeks to integrate households with banking facilities through schemes like Jan-Dhan Yojana. The program also prioritizes updating customer records via the re-KYC process, crucial for continued banking service delivery.

The campaign, which runs from July to September, has already seen enthusiastic participation, completing re-KYC for 3,965 accounts and enrolling over 7,000 in social security schemes, illustrating the community's eagerness for financial empowerment.
