Assam CM Visits Baksa: Assures Justice post-Unrest

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid a visit to Lakshmipur A Block village in Baksa district following a recent disturbance outside the Baksa District Jail. The unrest erupted during the transfer of two suspects linked to Zubeen Garg's death, necessitating police firing that injured two individuals.

During his visit, CM Sarma extended his support by providing Rs. 2 lakh each to the injured, Dipak Medhi and Bidyut Kalita, for medical treatment. He pledged the state's commitment to offering further financial aid for their recovery. Sarma also engaged with villagers at the Hari Mandir, acknowledging their crucial role in maintaining peace.

Emphasizing justice for Zubeen Garg as a top priority, Sarma assured that investigations are advancing earnestly. He announced Rs. 10 lakh for Hari Mandir's development and another Rs. 10 lakh for a local Shiv Temple, underscoring the importance of community harmony. Key officials accompanied him, reinforcing the government's focus on peace and progress.
