As Cyclone Montha approaches, Andhra Pradesh's power sector is on high alert, directed by Chief Secretary K Vijayanand. Preparations are underway among all power utilities to ensure readiness before the storm's potential intensification on the morning of October 28.

A comprehensive review of utilities including APTRANSCO, APGENCO, and others was conducted to ensure thorough field deployment, operational control rooms, and robust restoration strategies are in place. The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of uninterrupted power supply and timely recovery operations post-cyclone.

In preparation, major thermal power stations have performed safety checks, and adequate supplies of coal and equipment are stocked. Additionally, emergency generators and restoration teams have been mobilized across coastal districts to maintain critical infrastructure and services during the potential devastation.
