In a historic move, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has initiated proactive discussions with spiritual leaders of all 13 Akharas on the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar. The meeting aimed at strategizing preparations for the upcoming 2027 Kumbh Mela, with key announcements being made for major bathing dates.

The Chief Minister announced pivotal dates for the 2027 Kumbh Mela, set to begin with Makar Sankranti on January 14 and culminating with Chaitra Purnima on April 20. The government is prioritizing the traditions and needs of the saint community to ensure the success of the event. Guidance from the saints was highlighted as indispensable for the event's smooth execution.

Efforts are underway to make Kumbh 2027 a marquee event following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of establishing Uttarakhand as a global spiritual capital.
