In a politically charged atmosphere, AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami arrived at Chennai's Srivaari Marriage Hall for the party's General Council and executive committee meeting. Drawing over 2,000 members and special invitees, the assembly took on special significance as strategizing for the looming 2026 Tamil Nadu elections dominated discussions.

Key topics revolved around intensifying campaigns against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and delineating approaches for the upcoming election. The potential reunion with leaders who previously left the party, including former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, added another layer of intrigue to the session.

Amidst these developments, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam President Vijay targeted the DMK at a large rally in Puducherry, accusing the party of deceit. Emphasizing the unity of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Vijay highlighted the cultural and political legacies that bind the two regions, urging residents to look beyond administrative distinctions.
