India and Argentina have embarked on a significant agricultural cooperation initiative as they inked a three-year work plan. The agreement, spanning 2025 to 2027, was established between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Argentina's National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), according to an official statement.
The collaboration will unfold through joint research endeavors, germplasm exchanges, and expert training programs, focusing on areas such as sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, and value chain development. Key highlights include germplasm exchange of crops, expertise in mechanization, and collaboration on environmental strategies like zero tillage and precision farming methods.
Ambassador Mariano Augustin Caucino and ICAR Director General M L Jat exchanged the documents, highlighting the commitment to foster innovation in natural resources management, digital agriculture, and agricultural mechanization. The initiative underscores an annual review process to ensure the effectiveness and growth of this strategic partnership.
