In a remarkable medical feat, doctors at a Delhi hospital provided life-saving treatment to a one-year-old boy from Uzbekistan suffering from Alagille Syndrome, a rare genetic liver disorder. The infant's life was saved through a living donor liver transplant, with the child's father playing a critical role as the donor.

Initially misdiagnosed with biliary atresia, the infant endured various symptoms, including persistent jaundice and severe itching, before an accurate diagnosis revealed Alagille Syndrome, affecting both liver and heart functions. A multidisciplinary medical team determined an urgent liver transplant was necessary due to the exacerbating condition and an associated heart ailment.

Under the leadership of Dr. Ajitabh Srivastava at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Patparganj, the complex transplant procedure was executed after rigorous evaluations. The successful surgery underscores the need for timely diagnosis and comprehensive care. The baby is now recovering, epitomizing the impact of swift medical intervention and a father's life-saving decision.
