A young woman from Manipur was allegedly assaulted Sunday evening near the Saket District Court Complex, New Delhi. While walking in a park with friends, she reportedly faced harassment from a group of men, which escalated into an assault when she objected.
She was treated at Safdarjung Hospital for minor injuries and is expected to recover. Police have engaged with the victim as investigations continue.
Earlier, in a separate incident, a couple was put in judicial custody over racial abuse and intimidation allegations against women from Arunachal Pradesh in Malviya Nagar. Police have indicted sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in their ongoing investigation.
