A court in Delhi's Rouse Avenue complex has scheduled a defamation complaint filed by former Minister Satyendra Jain against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Karnail Singh for framing of charges on April 8. This decision awaits the outcome of pending revisions in the Sessions court, highlighted by Singh's challenge of the proceedings.

Jain's complaint centers on an allegedly defamatory statement Singh made during a news interview on January 19, 2025, accusing Jain of corruption and illicitly acquiring wealth. Singh's counsel maintains that the claims were based on public information from the Enforcement Directorate and media reports, justifying Singh's public dissemination as an election candidate.

Despite Singh's argument regarding the court's jurisdiction, given his non-legislator status at the time, the court sided with Jain at this stage of the proceedings. Legal representatives Vinod Dahiya and others have continued to underscore the necessity for both accuracy in public statements and the protection of reputational integrity as the case advances.
