In a major breakthrough, the Counter-Intelligence wing of Punjab Police, alongside Chandigarh Police, has successfully cracked the case of the Chandigarh grenade attack, resulting in the arrest of five suspects. Among those apprehended are the main perpetrators of the attack, according to official statements.
Addressing a press conference, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced that one grenade and an additional cache have been recovered. The operations to apprehend the remaining absconding accused continue, with assurances from the police that they are actively pursuing leads.
The investigation revealed the involvement of Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, suggesting international ties with handlers based in Portugal and Germany.
