Peru's Poverty Rate Drops for Second Consecutive Year

Peru's national statistics agency reports a continued decline in poverty rates for 2025. The latest figures show a decrease from 27.6% in 2024 to 25.7% in 2025, marking the second year of reduction. This change represents 567,000 individuals moving out of poverty, highlighting a positive shift in economic conditions.

Peru has recorded a decline in its poverty rate for the second consecutive year, according to the national statistics agency, INEI. The poverty rate in 2025 stands at 25.7%, down from 27.6% in the previous year.

Data from INEI further reveals a significant annual reduction of 1.9 percentage points, contribubting to a better standard of living for many.

As a result of this trend, 567,000 Peruvians have moved out of poverty, signifying substantial socioeconomic progress in the country.
