In a dramatic turn of events, the National Testing Agency cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination initially held on May 3, after allegations of a leaked question paper surfaced. On Wednesday, Bihar's minister Shravan Kumar pledged stringent measures against those involved, asserting that a comprehensive investigation is underway.

The decision comes after collaborative inputs from central agencies and law enforcement raised doubts about the examination's integrity. The NTA assured candidates that their registration data and chosen examination centers would remain valid for the retest, negating the need for fresh registration or fees.

Opposition figures, notably Aam Aadmi Party's Arvind Kejriwal, have fiercely criticized the government, citing the recurring issue of exam leaks under BJP leadership. Kejriwal called for Gen Z to protest, drawing parallels with political upheavals in Nepal and Bangladesh, and urged for accountability and justice through public activism.
