Debashish Samantaray, formerly with Biju Janata Dal (BJD), has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) inspired by PM Modi. Following his resignation from BJD and Rajya Sabha, BJP leaders enthusiastically welcomed him, recognizing his contributions to Odisha's development. BJD criticized his departure, citing pursuit of personal interests.

In a significant political realignment, Debashish Samantaray has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after resigning from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's programs and personality, Samantaray expressed his commitment to strengthening the BJP's presence in Odisha.

The former BJD leader was warmly received by BJP's top brass, including National President Nitin Nabin and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. During a press conference held in the nation's capital, BJP National Secretary Arun Singh officially welcomed Samantaray to the party.
