Kamlesh Kumar Pant Appointed as Himachal Pradesh's Chief Secretary

Himachal Pradesh has appointed senior IAS officer Kamlesh Kumar Pant as the Chief Secretary, effective immediately. This decision was confirmed through an official notification from the Department of Personnel, highlighting its significance in public interest.
The notification stated that Pant, a 1993-batch officer, would take over the role alongside his existing responsibilities as the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue)-cum-Financial Commissioner and other crucial positions in the state administration.
Pant's new appointment follows controversies involving his predecessor, Sanjay Gupta, who faced legal challenges and accusations related to the Chester Hills land case.
