Exclusive: UDF Excluded From Key NEET Examination Discussion Amid Controversy

The United Doctors Front was barred from participating in a crucial parliamentary meeting on NEET UG exams. Despite being listed as witnesses, they were informed that the majority of MPs opposed their presence. The UDF raised concerns over the National Testing Agency's accountability, amid ongoing examination reforms.

The United Doctors Front (UDF) claimed exclusion from a pivotal Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on the NEET UG examination despite being officially listed as witnesses. The session, held to discuss pressing issues related to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and National Testing Agency (NTA), reportedly denied entry to UDF representatives.

UDF chairperson Lakshya Mittal revealed that five delegates were asked to wait outside and were later informed about their exclusion. The meeting, chaired by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh, proceeded without them as Singh cited political opposition to their participation. Mittal conveyed the UDF's disappointment, also adding that Singh listened to their concerns privately.

The UDF submitted demands to dissolve the NTA, citing lacks in accountability and auditing, suggesting the formation of a new examination body. Recent controversies over NEET-UG regarding paper leaks and protests have led to examination reforms, with the government planning a shift to a Computer-Based Test format to enhance security.
