Border Security Tightens: BJP MLA Visits After Illegal Entry Attempts

In a significant move to assess border security, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dadhiram Ray visited the India-Bangladesh border at Changrabandha and Mekhliganj, following two separate infiltration attempts by individuals identified as Bangladeshi nationals. Reports stated that these attempts occurred near the Mahanadi Border Outpost (BOP) in the Mekhliganj area on Friday.
Ray assured the public that both the Border Security Force (BSF) and local authorities are enforcing rigorous surveillance along the border to thwart any infiltration efforts. He expressed confidence in the security measures in place and questioned Bangladesh's stance on accepting its nationals back while affirming India's commitment to border integrity.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated India's firm stance against infiltration, encouraging voluntary repatriation to avoid legal consequences. Shah commended West Bengal's Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for swiftly handing over 600 hectares of land to facilitate accelerated border fencing, underscoring the government's electoral promise to enhance border security infrastructure.
