Amidst a swirling political tempest, Telangana Congress President Bomma Maheshkumar Goud has launched a fierce critique against the rejection of Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan's Rajya Sabha nomination, asserting that this action erodes constitutional rights and democratic principles. Goud, in a pointed attack, accused the BJP of a mala fide intent in the rejection process.
Voicing his concerns, Goud highlighted the absence of pending legal cases against Natarajan, questioning the legitimacy of the decision. 'We have approached the Election Commission, confident in legal remedies,' Goud declared in an exclusive interview with ANI, underlining the party's steadfast belief in the democratic framework of the nation.
The controversy surrounding the rejection has intensified, with Congress alleging a calculated political ploy to capture all Rajya Sabha seats for the BJP. As senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi challenges the Returning Officer’s decision, Congress has moved the Supreme Court, pressing for an urgent resolution to what they deem an illegal and arbitrary decision.
