North Korea's latest tactic to provoke South Korea involves sending balloons filled with trash across the border, according to a report from the Yonhap news agency.

In response to these provocative actions, which South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff have labeled as 'despicable, shameful and vulgar,' South Korea has resumed its round-the-clock loudspeaker broadcast campaign targeting the North.

Since May, North Korea has launched thousands of these trash-filled balloons, significantly escalating the tensions between the two countries.
