In a recent clash at Mumbai's Dadar Kabutarkhana, 150 individuals have been booked for protesting against a ban on pigeon-feeding imposed by the city's civic body. The police confirmed the FIR, citing charges of unlawful assembly and disobedience.
On August 6, hundreds, notably from the Jain community, rallied to contest the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) actions. Demonstrators attempted to dismantle the covers and fences placed by BMC at the feeding site and caused traffic disruptions, insisting on the right to feed pigeons.
Health experts have raised concerns about pigeon droppings, linking them to potential respiratory issues in humans. Despite the protests, no arrests have been made, as authorities continue to navigate the public health and community tensions.
