A call for expanding free healthcare access across India was made by Sant Balbir Singh, an Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP, during a Zero Hour session on Wednesday.
Singh criticized the growing commercial aspect of medical services, emphasizing the unaffordable care in private hospitals and the convoluted policy terms of insurance companies.
He praised Punjab's health scheme, which offers free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh, urging the Central government to implement similar models nationwide.
