Private doctors and hospital staff took to the streets in Jaipur on Monday, protesting against alleged irregularities in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). Their demands included the release of a doctor arrested for fraud and systemic reforms within the scheme.
The protest prompted senior officials to engage with representatives of various medical organizations to consider the demands. Key grievances included not only pending payments but also structural issues such as the absence of standard operating procedures and clear process timelines.
The office-bearers of the Indian Medical Association, including its Rajasthan chapter's president Mahesh Sharma and secretary N K Agrawal, emphasized that the boycott of RGHS would persist until significant actions and decisions are implemented.
