Delhi Issues Over 7.72 Lakh Ayushman Bharat Cards, Settles Claims Totaling Rs 86.22 Crore

In the capital city of Delhi, over 7.72 lakh Ayushman Bharat cards have been issued to residents, enhancing access to healthcare services. More than 46,900 beneficiaries have already received treatment under this government healthcare initiative.
The scheme, known as Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), has settled 34,715 claims worth Rs 86.22 crore. This comprehensive program offers cashless healthcare coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per beneficiary, including Rs 5 lakh under the central scheme and an additional Rs 5 lakh under the Delhi government scheme. Healthcare is accessible through a network of 233 hospitals, which includes 181 private and 52 government facilities across Delhi.
Delhi's Health Minister Pankaj Singh highlighted the program's growing significance in providing accessible healthcare in the region. Efforts are being made to improve awareness and ensure that benefits reach all eligible citizens. In addition, emergency measures have been put in place to address the ongoing heatwave conditions, including special medical provisions and stockpiles at local hospitals.
