NATO has leveled serious accusations against China, labeling it a 'decisive enabler' of Russia's military actions in Ukraine. This marks a significant escalation in NATO's stance on Beijing and highlights the 'systematic challenges' China poses to global security, according to a CNN report. The announcement came during a summit hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington, where the 32-member alliance issued a joint declaration condemning China's support of Russian aggression.

Despite export bans, Chinese semiconductors and machine tools have become crucial to Russia’s defense sector, boosting Moscow’s military operations in Ukraine. NATO’s statement expressed growing concerns over China’s deepening ties with Russia, particularly since the declaration of a 'no limits' partnership, and urged Beijing to cease all support of Russia's war effort, both material and political.

The statement also expanded NATO’s concerns to include China's activities in cyberspace, its rapidly growing nuclear arsenal, and its assertive maneuvers in outer space. NATO condemned China’s alleged 'malicious cyber activities' and disinformation campaigns, while continuing to advocate for constructive engagement aimed at transparency. Despite China’s claims of neutrality and efforts to foster peace talks, NATO remains wary of Beijing’s substantial economic and diplomatic backing of Russia.
