India, Brazil Boost Strategic Partnership: Key Talks in New Delhi

NEW DELHI [India], August 27 (ANI) – External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira will co-chair the 9th India-Brazil Joint Commission Meeting on Tuesday in New Delhi. The Brazilian Foreign Minister arrived in the Indian capital on Saturday, marking the beginning of a four-day official visit.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that Vieira's visit will further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Brazil. Discussions will revolve around solidifying G20 outcomes from India's 2023 G20 Presidency and exploring new areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly with Brazil now leading the G20 until November 2024.
Brazil's presidency of the G20 will see collaboration with India and South Africa. Brazil will host the G20 Leaders' Summit in Rio de Janeiro on November 18-19. Both nations share a multifaceted relationship based on common values, and this visit is expected to open up new avenues for cooperation across diverse sectors. Earlier in July, India participated in the G20 Development Ministers' Meeting in Rio, highlighting its significant programs like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, and AMRUT.
