This visit is upon the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and marks U Min Aung Hlaing's inaugural visit to India in his presidential role.
Accompanied by a delegation of cabinet ministers, senior government officials, and business leaders, President Aung Hlaing's itinerary includes crucial discussions to fortify historical and cultural ties with India. The agenda also covers participation in a business forum and visits to Bodh Gaya and Mumbai to explore business prospects.
This visit underscores the pivotal place Myanmar occupies in India's strategic policies such as Neighbourhood First and Act East. It follows Indian MoS for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh's visit to Myanmar, reinforcing India's commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs.
