The event explored strengthening bilateral technology partnerships in AI to boost economic growth, sharing strategies for digital capacity building and emphasizing joint research initiatives.

The Embassy of India in Kathmandu, together with the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, conducted a seminar titled "India-Nepal Partnership in Emerging Technologies: Exploring Bilateral Opportunities for AI Collaboration." The event saw participation from key government, academic, and startup figures to explore mutually beneficial strategies in artificial intelligence.

Pratyush Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of Sarvam AI, delivered the keynote address. Sarvam AI, part of the IndiaAI Mission's Innovation Centre, is supported with Rs 246.72 crore to develop local foundational models. NICCI President Sunil KC urged the Indian AI sector to consider partnerships with Nepal to foster economic ties powered by technology.

Suman Shekhar, First Secretary at the Indian Embassy in Nepal, emphasized the robust economic relationship between the two nations, notably in digital development, and detailed the India-Nepal Startup Partnership Network program. He highlighted the recent MoU for advancing Language AI between India's Digital India Bhashini Division and Kathmandu University.
