Russia says more NATO troops in Lithuania would be an escalation
Russia considers the possible deployment of additional NATO troops, including U.S. forces, in the Baltic states to be an escalation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
Lithuania's Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius said on Tuesday that the country was ready to cover the cost of establishing a permanent U.S. military base if Washington agreed to set one up there.
