FDI surge to 6.5 pct to USD 36 bn in Jan-March quarter, FDI from US rose 71 pct

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into China rose 6.5 per cent in January-March to 242.28 billion yuan ($36.19 billion) compared with a year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
In March, FDI into China grew 8 per cent on-year to 95.17 billion yuan, the commerce ministry said, up from February's 62.94 billion yuan. FDI into China from the United States rose 71.3 per cent in the first three months of 2019, the ministry said.
