China Jan-May FDI up 6.8% y/y in yuan terms

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into China rose 6.8% in January-May to 369.06 billion yuan ($53.34 billion) compared with a year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday. In May, FDI into China grew 8.5% on-year to 63.83 billion yuan, the commerce ministry said, up slightly from April's 62.95 billion yuan.
FDI into China from the United States rose 7.5% in the first five months of the year. Separately, China's non-financial outbound direct investment (ODI) in Jan-May fell 1% on-year to 301.15 billion yuan.
