Israel denounces Palestinian membership bid at UN, commends US veto

Israel's foreign minister said he commended the United States for casting a veto in the U.N. Security Council on Thursday to deny the Palestinian Authority full membership of the world body.

"The shameful proposal was rejected. Terrorism will not be rewarded," said Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
