Jammu ADGP Reviews Security Amidst Major Pilgrimages

Jammu ADGP Anand Jain reviewed security arrangements for upcoming pilgrimages, including the Amarnath Yatra. Emphasizing joint control rooms for seamless coordination, he ensured robust measures and facilities for pilgrims, finalizing plans with all district SSPs to optimize resources and deploy security personnel across critical areas.

Jammu Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain conducted a critical review of security preparations on Friday night for upcoming pilgrimages, including the highly anticipated Amarnath Yatra in the region.

ADGP Jain stressed the importance of establishing joint control rooms to improve coordination among various agencies, aiming for the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra, Mata Kheerbhawani mela, Budha Amarnath yatra, and Shri Machail yatra.

With the Amarnath Yatra scheduled to commence on June 29 and conclude on August 19, and other events like the Kheerbhawani Mela starting on June 14 and Machail Yatra on July 18, discussions centered on comprehensive security strategies and adequate facilities for pilgrims. Special focus was given to the Yatri Niwas in Bhagwati Nagar and other lodging centers.

Transport plans were also reviewed to ensure a safe and hassle-free journey for pilgrims along the national highway. Deployment of security personnel in key districts including Jammu, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi was finalized to address any contingencies.

Official statements confirmed that Strong Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and Road Opening Parties (ROPs) will be deployed, with thorough arrangements at reception centers, langars, and assistance booths.

ADGP Jain directed all district Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to optimize available resources for the smooth conduct of the yatras, emphasizing the significance of security and coordination.
