S Jaishankar Forges Stronger India-Sri Lanka Ties with High-Level Talks

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held significant discussions with Sri Lanka's top leadership, including President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The talks centered on enhancing bilateral ties in areas like power, energy, and connectivity. Jaishankar also commissioned a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre under a $6 million Indian grant.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in crucial discussions with Sri Lanka's leadership, including President Ranil Wickremesinghe, on Thursday. The dialogue aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, focusing on power, energy, connectivity, and other sectors.

Jaishankar and Wickremesinghe jointly inaugurated the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, a project facilitated by a $6 million Indian grant. The centre includes installations in multiple strategic locations across Sri Lanka.

The minister underscored India's commitment to Sri Lanka through development and connectivity initiatives, reinforcing the longstanding ties between the two nations. High-level meetings with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and other officials further solidified plans for continued cooperation.
